Ethernet, until now, was only a no-go zone. We were limited to enjoy Ethernet networks only at our office or home, but now iPhone and iPad will be able to have Ethernet connection.
The iPhone and iPad users will now be able to connect where there’s no Wi-Fi connectivity could be avail, all they need is Redpart Ethernet Cable.
The Redpart Ethernet is a modified version of the ordinary USB to Ethernet adapter. Though this cable is different as it has normal RJ45 connector at one terminal and 7-foot CAT5e cabling but the other side ends with Apple Lighting connecter. The price has set at $89.
Redpark Ethernet, no doubt, will be a great help for people who don’t have Wi-Fi connections to be connected, however, it has few limitations.
- Only Apps developed using RedSocket SDK can use Redpark Ethernet Cable (RedSocket SDK is available to download free for developers). Although Apple App store rolls out emulator that works with the cable.
- The cable is only for networking purpose, it can’t be used to chrage iPhone or iPod.
- It only works with iOS 8.0 or later versions.
- The bandwidth is limited to 5 Mbps.
