Cat6, Cat6e and Cat6a cables are highly advanced and efficient when it comes to performance, speed, crosstalk and others. They were exclusively designed to cover all those features which were missing in Cat5 and Cat5e. Cat6 and Cat6e are like look a-likes with Cat6e having enhanced features; however, Cat6a are the most advanced version.

All three cables Cat6, Cat6e and Cat6a use the same connector type, which is RJ45. However, more specifically Cat6 use RJ45 (8P8C).
The performance distance of all three cables is the same, which is 328 feet. The performance distance means that the cables can perform up to the distance of 328 feet and it usually varies in networking cables.

Differences between Cat6, Cat6e and Cat6a
Both Cat6 and Cat6e cables are preferably used to connect phones lines and wire home network but Cat6a are not used for these purposes. On the other hand, Cat6e and Cat6a are used in data centers but Cat6 are not.
Speed and Frequency:
The speed and frequency vary in all three cables as Cat6 and Cat6a are established by Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) as an industry performance standard but not Cat6e. Cat6 must perform up to or even above the TIA standard limit for 250 MHz to 500 MHz. Cat6e must perform up to or even above the limit of 250 MHz to 550 MHz. Cat6a must perform up to or even above the TIA standard limit for 250 Mhz to 600 Mhz.
Time to transfer 1 terabyte:
Both Cat6 and Cat6e take at least 3 hours to transfer 1 terabyte from one place to another. However, Cat6a cables take only 20 minutes to transfer the same amount of data because it’s advanced and more efficient.
Cat6 cables have the ability to transmit data at the data rate of 1000 BASE-TX, Cat6e exceed the data rate of 1000 BASE-TX, when it comes to the same amount of data.
However, the advanced Cat6a have the miraculous ability to transmit the same data at the maximum data rate of 10GBASE-T, which is considered as an ultimate standard.
AWG (American Wire Gauge)
Cat6 and Cat6e cables typically uses 23-AWG conductor that is almost 0226 inches in diameter per wire. However, Cat6a cables use 22-AWG as they consist of four twisted
pair of copper wires.
